Visualise yourself in the lifestyle you want to live, how it feels and looks like. What are the surroundings like?
Who else is around? How do they act towards you? What kind of car do you drive, where do you live and what kind of job do you have?
These are all questions that will allow us to get an idea of what this lifestyle looks like for us as individuals.
5. Think outside the box
You may have heard that advice before, but what does it mean? It means to think about the problem from a different angle to use your imagination.
And find new ways of approaching things. That can sometimes be easier said than done, but there are ways to get yourself into this mindset:
Think about what you can do instead of what you can’t do. What would happen if there were no limitations on how much money or time or resources I had? How could I use those unlimited resources to my advantage?
What kind of lifestyle would allow me to make sure everything was taken care of so I wouldn’t have any worries about survival anymore?
What would make me happy enough not only survive but thrive in such an ideal situation? These questions might lead us back toward our original goal–having more free time.
So we can pursue other passions outside work (like writing!). But now we’re looking at this goal from a different angle: instead of thinking “I want more money.
And I don’t need as much sleep,” our focus shifts toward finding ways around those limits by using our skillsets in new ways (e.g., freelancing).
